How to Connect AdriaHost Mail to Codex Desktop and Claude Code

AdriaHost Mail MCP allows AI tools to search a connected mailbox and display information about email messages. This guide explains how to connect your mailbox using the Codex desktop app or Claude Code.

Connecting through the Codex desktop app

Open the Codex desktop app and go to Settings → MCP servers → Add server.
Enter the following details:
- Name: AdriaHost Mail
- Transport: Streamable HTTP
- Server URL: https://mcp.adriahost.com/mcp
Save the connection. If prompted, select Restart.
After restarting the app, click Authenticate. The AdriaHost mailbox connection page will open in your browser.
Enter your email address and mailbox password, then click Test connection.
Once the test is successful, click Connect.
Return to Codex and ask it to check the connected mailbox.

You can use the following request for the first test:

Find the five most recent messages and show their senders and subject lines.

Connecting through Claude Code

If you already use Claude Code in a terminal, add the AdriaHost Mail MCP server with the following command:

claude mcp add --transport http adriahost-mail https://mcp.adriahost.com/mcp

This command only adds the MCP connection configuration. It does not send any emails.

After running the command:

Open Claude Code.
Enter /mcp.
Select AdriaHost Mail.
Start the authentication process.
Enter your mailbox credentials in the browser window that opens.
Click Test connection and, after a successful test, click Connect.

Once connected, you can try a request such as:

Find the five most recent messages and show their senders and subject lines.

Troubleshooting connection problems

If the automatic mailbox test is unsuccessful, contact AdriaHost Support and request the correct mail server hostname to enter under Advanced settings.
