How to set up your site to run from another hosting provider while keeping emails with Adriahost

It’s possible to configure your site to run from an external hosting provider, while emails will still work through Adriahost.

Although it may seem complicated, the process is quite simple:

  1. Log in to cPanel.

  2. Open the Zone Editor application.

  3. Find the domain you want to edit and redirect.

  4. Click on the Manage option next to that domain.

  5. This will open the list of all DNS zones for the domain, so proceed with the following steps:

    • Edit the existing A record for your-site-name.tld, and instead of Adriahost's IP address, enter the IP address of the external hosting provider where the site should operate.
    • Save the change.
    • Edit the existing CNAME record for mail.your-site-name.tld. For Type, select A record (instead of CNAME), and set Adriahost’s IP address as the destination.
    • Save the change.
    • Edit the existing MX record for your-site-name.tld, and set the destination to mail.your-site-name.tld.
    • Save the change.

Important: your-site-name.tld is just an example. Please replace it with your actual site address (domain).

This way, you’ve configured the site to operate from one hosting provider, while emails will remain with Adriahost.
